Class40 –
Full speed ahead
Hardly any other class embodies the thrill of ocean sailing as much as the Class40. The boats are fast, uncompromising and built for real challenges on the open sea. Those who sail here love the adrenaline rush – and have the ambition to be among the leaders.

Up to 400 m² of sail area when sailing downwind: that's as much as two tennis courts – on a 12-metre boat!

The mast is approximately 19 metres high, which is equivalent to a six-storey residential building – made of carbon, of course.
Hull weight alone:
approx. 4,500 kg:
As light as a Smart car –
but with the volume
of a minibus.
Length: 12.50 m
Width: 4.50 m:
Wider than a truck – built for speed and stability on the ocean.
Top speeds of over 25 knots (≈ 46 km/h): That's faster than a motorboat on a planing run – powered only by wind energy.
High-tech instead of comfort: no toilet, no real bed – but a computer for weather routing and an autopilot that navigates day and night.

Young. Fast. Successful.
Melwin Fink and Lennart Burke prove that peak performance is not a question of age. With youthful ambition, technical precision and genuine passion, they are shaking up the offshore scene. What drives them is more than just the desire to win – it is their fascination with speed, teamwork and adventure on the high seas.
Courageous, focused and with a healthy dose of madness, they prove that young sailors can also compete in the professional scene – and set new standards in the process.
