Together with our partner Lippmann German Ropes, we have been developing yacht rope for six years now. Lippmann German Ropes manufactures and we test it!
Production and processing are separated by only a few Hamburg districts, so we maintain very close ties to production. In our splicing workshop, we have all the options to optimise your rope through splicing. From additional abrasion protection to thickening, tapering or additional protection at clamping points, you can order everything from us. Core-mantle splicing
The core-mantle splice is a loop at the end of a rope. It consists of a sheath and a core. The kernmantle splice is a classic splice that does not affect the breaking load of the rope, unlike a knot. The loop allows connections to be made to the clew or halyard with the aid of shackles.
Abrasion protection
To provide extra protection for the ends of halyards or sheets, it is possible to remove the normal sheath of the line and replace it with an extra Dyneema abrasion protection cover over the last few metres. This has significantly better abrasion properties and allows us to replace it after damage.
Rejuvenation
Tapered ropes have a reduced diameter, allowing them to pass more easily through blocks and deflections. They are also lighter in weight.
Sailmaker service
We offer a sailmaker service at our Hamburg location. You can bring your sails to us or have them picked up by us. We repair, maintain, measure and store sails. We make tarpaulins and covers directly at our premises in Hamburg. When it's time for a new sail, we work together with our partner Bryt Sails from Gdansk.
